Contractors in Courtyard - Tue, Sept 9th

ATTENTION SOUTH BUILDING COURTYARD RESIDENTS

At 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9th a contractor will be working in the SW corner in the Courtyard. Work should commence and finish the same day. A truck and compressor will be parked in the west parking area during their construction efforts.

Please be mindful of the restricted access into the Courtyard from the west end of the South Building tomorrow.

I Street road work starting

The road work at 10th and I St will be starting the first of next week. Albert Whitehead asked the project manager to let him know when the road work would start so he could keep an extra eye on Star (the reindeer) for her reaction to sudden noise. They informed him to expect some jack hammer type noise starting Monday/Tuesday. It is understood they will be doing curb/gutter work not the repaving at this time.

Courtyard Waterproofing Complete!

The Contracting Committee is pleased to announce the completion of the Courtyard Waterproofing Project.  We thank everyone for their patience.  Through good communication and community support we were able to get the project done ahead of schedule.  SPECIAL THANKS to Sam and his crew from Hillside Landscape, and to Kraig Hughes for his professional management.

Courtyard Waterproofing Update

The courtyard waterproofing project is moving along ahead of schedule. The contractor is ready to start using the adhesive to apply the waterproofing material.

This adhesive has a strong odor. Please plan to close your windows whiles the work is going on to avoid any discomfort.

GCI Temp Shutoff Notice & Close Your Windows ALERT!

ATTENTION RESIDENTS

*GCI CABLE WILL BE UNPLUGGED during the day while our Contractor works in a specific are of the Courtyard. It will be reactivated before they leave for the evening. * PLEASE CLOSE YOUR WINDOWS from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday to Friday on Aug 11-15. The Contractor will be using a very odiferous glue product that might be offensive.

** The GCI cable service to the South Tower has been cut during today's Courtyard Waterproofing project. GCI has it scheduled to repair tonight. Everything that could be done, has been done. We are very sorry for your inconvenience.

Dryer Vent Cleaning

Dryer Vent Cleaning

Air Duct Services will be cleaning the dryer vents from the exterior on May 21-23, 2014.

You may hear some noise in your unit. This is the buzzing of the air hose. Exterior dryer vent cleaning is only half of the recommended maintenance. You must maintain the vents from inside of your unit as well.

If you would like to contract with Air Duct Cleaning & Services for the interior dryer vent cleaning please contact Jeff Davis at 907-350-3050 to schedule an appointment. It is recommended to have your vents cleaned annually. Dryer vent cleaning not only increases the efficiency of your dryer but is fire prevention maintenance.

If you have a question about if you have a booster fan in your dryer vent please call Elizabeth Irwin at 563-8818. There should be a placard posted in your unit informing you of the booster fans.

South Addition Neighborhood Alert

The following message was posted by a neighbor to our surrounding neighborhood. The incident reported did not occur at Park Place but is provided as a precaution to all residents to be aware. At Park Place you are reminded to ensure the garage door closes behind you, that you keep entry ways secure, and that you stay aware of those around you. REPORT any suspicious activity, call the Police in an emergency!

Below is the report from a neighbor:

Good morning neighbors ~

Yesterday morning (Thursday) I had a man on my deck looking into my windows. He had walked up my drive from the alley & was looking in windows & trying the doors. I cracked a window & asked him what he was doing & told him to get off my property ~ he tried to tell me he was with the census bureau however he had no clip board, information, etc with him & when I said I was calling APD he left. He walked down 12th & got into a big green chevy truck & then drove around the block slowly a couple of times.

APD did arrive after he drove away & the officer said he would cruise through the hood & look for this man. Here's a description: about 5'7" tall, white, older man with white long hair ~ very disarrayed. Glasses. He had baggy jeans on & a blue shirt with an open zipped jacket. He did not look professional, clean or like he worked for a government agency.

This was very scary! My concern is that this type of activity always happens on a Tuesday or Thursday when the food bank on E & 13th is operating. On food bank days, here's a lot of people walking up & down the alleys going through trash & checking car doors. I make it a point to be home if I'm able & have my camera handy to take photos.

Notice of Board Meeting on Dec 4, 2013

Immediately following the Annual Meeting on Dec 4, the newly elected Executive Board will have their first Board Meeting to elect officers.  The location will be at the Inlet Tower Banquet Room--the same location as the Annual Meeting.

Chimney and Dryer Vent Inspections

The annual chimney and dryer vent inspections are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Dec 4th with completion on Friday, Dec 6th. 

Please do NOT use your fireplaces during the day on Dec 4, 5 or 6.  

Proxy Form for Annual Meeting
